Brass Pendent

Being that this is the first time that I've ever been in a jewelry class, I was really unsure of how much freedom I had to the projects, and as soon as I started I realized how much more work really goes into making them look good. Starting this project off I thought it was going to be easy, so I made a little harder of a design for myself. While sawing out the design I ran into a couple of problems, the first being that it has a lot of curving tentacles and was hard to maneuver around them with out breaking every saw blade. Once I got to the filing and sanding, everything really slowed down because I had to focus in on every curve, which proved to be difficult. The chain was by far the most time consuming and tedious part of the while project, being that I went with a rather small pattern. Polishing down the entire thing was also very monotonous and time consuming. In the end, I really like the outcome and enjoyed the creative process that came with it, and i am excited to see what the future projects and rest of the school year bring.
